Monet, known for his landscapes of nature, however, like other impressionists he also painted city streetscapes.

The course will set out use the streets & parks of Civic as our inspiration. In the case of Monet, will explore his use loose free expressive brushstrokes and his ability to capture the fleeting moment of light and shadow. With Hockney, we will explore his use of fresh sharp colour and short crisp brushstrokes to evoke the various textures found in the landscape. These qualities are to be found in his most recent work of paintings of France.

So, with these two artists as our creative role models, we study the various techniques, we then set out to explore Civic from a uniquely artistic perspective.
