Rafa Marjan
About
Rafa Marjan has proudly been teaching the Arabic language with ANU CCE for seven years. Her deep knowledge and understanding of the language and its history stems from her upbringing in Lebanon as a native speaker and academic, studying Psychology at Lebanese University Tripoli; 1979-1982.
Rafa migrated to Australia during the Lebanese Civil War in 1983 and immersed herself in the Australian community whereby she was able to share elements of her culture, language and food.
Rafa feels passionately about language studies, history and linguistics
and is fluent in three languages including, English, Arabic and French and held
her first Arabic class in Canberra almost 37 years ago. Teaching
