Ruri Ueda


Ruri received a BA degree from the Department of Foreign Language Studies at Kansai University and MEd degree in the Department of English Education at Osaka Kyoiku University (Osaka University of Education) in Japan. She holds advanced teacher’s licenses for junior and senior high schools in Japan. In addition, she completed both the on-campus and online sessions of the Teaching English as a Foreign Language program offered by the University of Victoria in Canada in order to obtain her TEFL certification.

With regard to her research, she has conducted several studies on language education, such as the effects of flipped classroom, perception to ICT use by teachers, and the effects of second language speech perceptual training on productions.

She has about five years of experience teaching languages (English and Japanese) to students from various first language backgrounds, such as Japanese, Vietnamese, Chinese, Korean, and English speakers at the high school, vocational school, and university level. In her Japanese classes at CCE, she aims to teach practical Japanese so that students can use the phrases that they learn in class in real life.
